About LSC Cycling

LSC Cycling is a nationally competitive Division II collegiate cycling program and a member of the North Central Collegiate Cycling Conference (NCCCC), which includes member schools from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. LSC Cycling currently competes in the mountain bike discipline. The collegiate mountain bike season runs from August through October. Collegiate mountain biking consists of four disciplines – cross country, short track cross country, downhill, and dual slalom.

The Lake Superior College Cycling Team was an emerging varsity collegiate cycling program in 2017. In its first year of intercollegiate competition, LSC Cycling produced a strong showing at the 2017 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships in Missoula, MT. The team is excited to build on that experience and continue to pursue excellence on and off the bike.

Duluth, MN is recognized by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) with a Gold-Level Ride Center designation. Cycling at Lake Superior College takes advantage of the 100+ miles of beautiful IMBA certified Gold-Level trails right in our backyards. Thanks to the vision of the Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) and the City of Duluth, the Duluth Traverse (DT) interconnects all of the mountain bike trails and completely traverses the entire length of the City of Duluth. The easily accessible and extensive trails in Duluth offer great variety and difficulty, whether you’re a beginner or expert.

The gravity park at Spirit Mountain offers an impressive selection of exciting and challenging downhill trails. You are reminded of the beauty of Duluth atop Spirit Mountain with the amazing views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River.

Our goal is to promote the sport of cycling as a healthy lifestyle while providing student-athletes with an environment to grow academically, socially, and athletically. We encourage all riders of any level to join and come out for a ride. All riders receive expert coaching from our professional coaching staff.
